This year’s Jessamine Jamboree music lineup will have a little something for everyone.

Nicholasville Now’s Bob McIntire said organizers have listened to requests for more variety of music and this year for the first time, the lineup will include two rock bands.

The music will be held at three different locations this year, beginning at the Farmers Bank parking lot on Friday night, the J.D. legends parking lot Saturday afternoon and Goody’s parking lot in Kimberly Square, Saturday night.
The concerts, featuring local talent, are staggered to allow people to move from one venue to another without missing any of the performances.

The music gets underway at 7 p.m., Friday when local country-variety performer Roxanne East takes the Farmers Bank stage to get the audience warmed up for Jamboree headliner Kristi Miller and the Kristi Miller band who take the stage at 7 p.m.

Miller, a country singer from Berea, is well known to area music fans after performing regularly in Lexington and also at festivals and fairs in recent years.
The mandolin playing Miller, along with band members Gary Jones, Stephen Hunt and Sherry McGee will entertain Jamboree fans with a selection of music from various genres, but she said they never stray far from their country roots.

Miller also performs in Nashville while she is pursuing a career in country music.

Saturday at 1 p.m., the music shifts to J.D. Legends as local entertainer Scott Said and Backroads Band, another country act, takes the stage.  Said is also familiar to are fans performing at the Austin City Saloon.

Also on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Legends lot, magician Marc Comley will be performing a magic for young and old alike.

Saturday at 7 p.m., the Jessamine Jamboree Street Dance will take place in the Farmers Bank lot with the Po’Boyz performing a selection of oldies music for all the dancers in attendance.

Later, at 8 p.m., rock music takes center stage in the Goody’s lot in Kimberly Square when local band, Jockey Box, opens the evening festivities, followed by Steelryzon, another local group at 9 p.m.

McIntire encouraged fans to bring their lawn chairs for all shows.  Food and drinks will be available in the Goody’s lot as well as from various vendors on Main Street near the other two venues.

“The Jamboree used to be one of the best festivals in the state before the accident and we are trying to get it back to where it was,” McIntire said.
