Kristi Miller's Review

Review: As sure as I am sitting here today, the next major star in country music hails from Berea, Kentucky, and her name is Kristi Miller. Her self titled debut album is bound for a fast trip to the top of the charts with some of the best country tracks of the last decade.

A multi talented young woman who publishes a Christian publication when she isn't cutting records, Miller has the soul of an entire church choir and songwriting skills gained from a lifetime of experiences and lessons learned. A role model for women of all ages, her music is a symbol of all that is possible when talent merges with belief in one's self.

The peak of the album is the single "Baby McGee," a song written to tell the story of the child left behind where Janis Joplin's "Me & Bobby McGee" leaves off. Easily the most

heartfelt and emotional song I have heard in years, it leaves the listener both feeling the pain of the song's subject and rejoicing at her will to carry on. "Just a highway and a song, holding out and holding on, she never thought he'd ever slip away. She never really let him go, she just let him find his home, and she wonders now if she made a mistake. She wonders where he'd be if Bobby McGee woulda known about me."

Hearing a star on the way up is a blessing. Kristi Miller is neither jaded by the industry nor convinced of her own greatness. She is a sincere artist and as authentic a country girl as there is today. Clear a space for Kristi Miller's Cashbox Records debut album in your record collection today.
